Author interview with Jasiah Witkofsky

Dragon Soul Press had a chance to interview Jasiah Witkofsky, an author featured in At The End, Fairy Rites, and Trickster.

Landscraper during the day, wordsmith by night, Jasiah Witkofsky is the author of the swashbuckling historical fiction, Enter the Pistollera, and nearly one hundred short stories to be found within various anthologies.  His lifelong obsession with art and the written word has driven him to jot down or sketch out the cacophony of imagery and ideas that pour from his cracked skull.  Although he strives towards complete creativity and originality, it cannot be denied that world history, fantasy/sci-fi, multiculturalism, and lived experience have deeply influenced his endeavors in literature.

Besides childrearing and the secret garden crafted upon his yard, Jasiah considers the formulation of his Purple Pistollera novella the pinnacle of his accomplishments which he fully intends to pursue to its finality.  His favorite authors include Tolkien, Ursula K. LeGuin and several philosophers including Lao Tzu and Plotinus.  The books he continues to reference are The Three Musketeers, Dune, A Brief History of Everything, Ill Met in Lankhmar, Neuromancer, Merlin, and even The Bible for its admixture of myth, history, spirituality, and philosophical/moral fables.

His writing techniques can be categorized as chaotic at best flipping from one notebook to the next whether by prompt scheduling or whim.  Jasiah has had the gracious opportunity to work with professional writers and English teachers co-authoring with a few dignitaries of the craft, nonetheless, he seeks to broaden his literary scope into avenues such as history, philosophy, and even wartime journalism.

Jasiah hopes that any readers of his material will intake something novel, enticing, intriguing… even inspiring.  You can find his works on Facebook.
