Dragon Soul Press had a moment to interview Kelle Kranendonk, an author featured in The Damned and Soul Ink: Volume One.
- Introduce yourself.
- My name is Kellee Kranendonk and I’m a Canadian author.
- What prompted you to begin writing?
- I don’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t writing. My late grandfather claimed I
must have been born with a pen in one hand and paper in the other. I have no idea what
may have prompted my first story but now it’s for enjoyment, and to keep me sane.
Maybe that was always the reason. (Of course I like any money my writing earns me.
Who wouldn’t?)

- Do you have a favorite story or poem you’ve written? What’s it about?
- I think most of my pieces have been my favourite at one time or another. But overall I
guess I’d have to say my favourite ”story” is actually a non-fiction piece about the time I

first time I got to see her in person. It’s been more than that now and we still keep in
touch.

- What is your writing process like?
- I’d describe my writing process as chaotic. I’ll write any time I feel like it (as long as I
have the time) but I don’t have any set schedule. More often than not I’m working on
more than one piece at a time, moving between or among them as inspiration strikes. I
work in multiple genres as well.

- Where do you draw inspiration from?
- Everything and everywhere.
- Who is your favorite author?
- Stephen King and Kathy Reichs are a couple of my favourite authors.
- What do you hope readers enjoy most from your work?
- I hope they enjoy the words I’ve strung together to make them feel something – joy or
fear, or something to make them say “wow, I’m glad I got the chance to read that.”
