Author interview with Elizabeth Suggs

Dragon Soul Press had an opportunity to interview Elizabeth Suggs!

  1. Introduce yourself.
    • I’m Elizabeth Suggs, an author from Salt Lake City, Utah. I love creating stories that captivate
and inspire readers. I’m the founder of the LUW Romance Writers Chapter, co-owner of the
indie publisher Collective Tales Publishing, owner of Editing Mee (where I bring authors to
market through marketing, formatting, editing, and publishing), and I’m an author of a growing
number of award-winning published stories, titled “Into the Dark” part of the Collective Darkness anthology was Amazon Bestseller and another was selected for second place in the Quills Short Story Contest “Technicolor Tears.” I am also a book reviewer (EditingMee.com), popular bookstagramer, and cosplayer (@ElizabethSuggsAuthor). When I’m not writing or reading, I’m traveling the world.
  2. What prompted you to begin writing?
    • I began writing when I was five! The ability to create new worlds and share them with others is
      incredibly fulfilling for me.
  3. Do you have a favorite story or poem you’ve written? What’s it about?
    • My favorite story I’ve ever written would be “Into the Dark,” a short story in Deluxe Darkness and Collective Darkness anthologies. It describes how man creates his own version of hell.
  4. How many projects do you have planned over the next few years? Tell us about one.
    • Well, there are always anthologies coming out with my indie publisher Collective Tales
Publishing. We have a new book coming out in September called Collective Chaos. It’s an
apocalyptic anthology. For me personally, I have a dystopian romance novel that I’m hoping to
start querying here soon, and also a memoir/biography on my grandpa, and many other short
stories and novellas I have in the works!
  5. What is your writing process like?
    • My writing process involves brainstorming ideas, outlining the plot, and then diving into the
writing. I like to write every day, even if it’s just a little bit, to keep the momentum going.
However, I used to be just a discovery writer, writing without any plan. I found out very quickly
that it makes my writing process take even longer, so I’ve been doing my best at actually
planning things out, and it’s been working great.
  6. Where do you draw inspiration from?
    • I draw inspiration from many places: nature, personal experiences, other books, and even
dreams. Sometimes, a simple walk in the park can spark a new idea.
  7. What is one goal you have for your writing future?
    • One goal I have for my writing future is to publish a bestselling novel that resonates with readers worldwide.
  8. What do you hope readers enjoy most from your work?
    • I hope readers enjoy the immersive worlds and relatable characters in my work. I want them to
feel like they’re part of the story and to be moved by the journeys my characters undertake.
  9. Where can readers learn more about you?
